Sarah Palin Found Guilty

Post by Dr. Chris »

It looks to me she is going to bypass Washington and go directly to jail, "without passing go"

Sarah Palin Found Guilty of Abuse of Powers
An investigation has found Sarah Palin guilty of abuse of powers in the Troppergate scandal:

A legislative investigation has concluded that Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power in pushing for the firing of an Alaska state trooper who was once married to her sister. The report by investigator Steve Branchflower was made public late this afternoon by a 12-0 vote of the Legislative Council, which authorized the investigation. Branchflower’s report contains four findings. The first concludes that Palin violated the state’s executive branch ethics act, which says that “each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust.” Branchflower was investigating whether Palin abused her power by pushing for the firing of state trooper Mike Wooten, who was involved in a nasty divorce from Palin’s sister. Palin and her husband, Todd, have accused Wooten of threatening Palin’s father. The response to this report will prove valuable in showing the nature of the Republican Party. Over the last eight years while we have witnessed abuses of power by George Bush but some Republicans have claimed they retain honor by claiming that the abuses of Bush and Cheney did not reflect upon the entire party. Some conservatives, who speak of opposing abuse of power while while all too often looking the other way, even claim that George Bush is not a conservative. This report provides fair warning that the vice presidential candidate of the Republican Party has abused her power and is unfit to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. John McCain and the Republican Party, if they have any honor and any concern about restraining the power of government, have no choice but to remove Sarah Palin from the ticket. Should they fail to do so they will be demonstrating that the abuses of power under George Bush and Dick Cheney are not an aberration from Republican views but that abuse of power is sanctioned by the party. Should this be the case, they are unfit to govern. This will also be a good litmus test of conservative writers and bloggers as we see which support principle and which support party over principle.

Palin should be impeached;no moral principals, no discipline dealing with good. Her and husband are guilty; how many other files in the governor office he looked at? Who in the hell said he was an offical? These motives are dirty;they used authority that belonged to the people as though they werwe their own to destroy the commissioner and ex-brother-in-law. Abuse of power as to ethics means for personal reasons or financial. Her creditability is scummy and way out of pocket. This is how a crook work. What about her strong ties with the Alaskan Independence Party who do not like our beautiful country (Joe Vogler).

This Just In: Sarah Palin Abused Power… by Blue Stockings | Quelle surprise! We’ve got a result in Troopergate. At Open Left, Chris Bowers deadpans:Unsurprisingly, the report which Palin tried to block through lawsuits, stall through non-cooperation, discredit through personal attacks again…

Vice President Palin? Fill in the blanks:
[Vice President] Palin knowingly “permitted Todd to use the [vice president's] office and the resources of the [vice president's] office, including access to [---], to continue to contact [ ---] in an effort to find some way to get [---] fired.”
Just imagine the possibilities!!

Finding # 2: I find that, although Walt Monegan’s refusal to fire Trooper Michael Wooten was not the sole reason he was fired by Governor Sarah Palin, it was likely a contributing factor to his termination as Commissioner of Public Safety. In spite of that, Governor Palin’s firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.

Finding # 2 is a simple matter of state law which was never in dispute. It has absolutely no bearing on whether Palin abused her power. Those who claim this as a defense of Palin show a shocking lack of understanding of both this case and of the importance of rule of law which must be adhered to in order to prevent the unethical actions by Sarah Palin.

#2 she has the authority to fire and hire - what was un ethical was her motivation to do so. Like most xtian fundies she follows the belief that saying something often enough, even when the evidence proves contrary, makes something real - being happy that the findings said she did NOT abuse her power! Talk about deluded - perhaps I’ll write a book called The Palin Delusion

Yes, just in time for the election, huh Sarah? It didn’t work for them to try to drag their feet on this. McCain must be kickin’ himself about now. Oh, and “she’ll have to get back to-ya on that!” (wink). It’s clear who the honest candidates are turning out to be… Go Obama/Biden!!
(smile)

It’s ridiculous how people ignore all these things and still yell in your face that you’re a baby killer for voting for obama, he’s not fit to lead/gover, he’s inexperienced, higher taxes, blah blah blah. jesus christ, look at the facts. “democrats are still pulling the age card on mccain.” well, honestly he is OLD. his character has diminished throughout the debates. and he respects those idiots that call obama a terrorist. HELLO, WAKE UP CALL. Even SMART Republicans refuse to vote for McCain. If the Democratic candidates were like this, I would not be voting for them.

Well Doc..
just goes to Show you know how to use a PC LOL
You can FIND anything YOU Want online..
Just an Example below....
That Governor Palin made enemies within the corrupted Alaskan Republican Party that she overthrew is no secret; that they formed a 'bipartisan' lynching mob with Obama's Democratic supporters is of no surprise.
The venom directed at Palin reflects more on her enemies' characters than on her own..
“The so-called ‘Troopergate’ incident began with Governor Palin’s removal of Walt Monegan as commissioner of public safety. Today, investigator Steve Branchflower vindicated the governor by finding that she acted within her constitutional authority to remove ‘at-will’ employees.

“However, along with several members of the Legislative Council, we question how Mr. Branchflower reached the conclusion that Governor Palin abused her power with respect to Trooper Mike Wooten. That finding required speculation and assumptions on Mr. Branchflower’s part and could not be supported solely on the basis of the evidence that he collected. We agree with the comments made that Alaskans should consider the report in total rather than relying solely on the findings.”
It is amazing how everybody that comes into orbit with Obama ends up being smeared.
Considering the fact that Sarah Palin became Governor of Alaska and did so well in a short period of time, it only beggars sense that she would have enemies in her own Party and the opposition.
What a vicious world
I noticed with interest that the article does not mentioin the fact that the person launching the investigation is a Democrat and the investigator chosen is married to an emplyee of Wooten, the guy who was fired...Can you say conflict of interest?
I Am SOOOOo tired of all this BS
just vote for Who ya Want Nobody is Going to Change your Mind at this Point.
Its all retorick Now anyways..
Vote your Conscience!!! I Will!!!! and will Sleep better knowing i did....
From Field to Show and Show to Field the way it should be
