Here's my take on as far as who is in office the way I look at it whoever gets in office should do right by the working people of the country what I mean by that is put all these people back to work that sit around on their and get unemployment when they are perfectly able to work just to lazy to get up and look for a job... Take all these people off section 8 houseing, food stamps and Wellfar and put their ass back work if they are physically able and the ones that aren't fine give them government assistance... The ones that have served this country in the armed force give them what they deserve...I am like everyone else I work to take care of my family not take care of the lazy people in the country... If the president was to cut out some this governments assistance that people don't deserve we wouldn't in so much of a financial struggle...the unemployment rate wouldn't be so high if the government would bring all the things that are made in foreign countries back to the states if that is done the unemployment rate drop big time you wouldn't have as many people on unemployment, section 8 houseing, wellfar, food stamps and other government assistance again this just my honest opinion

Well folks the party is over and the PEOPLE have sung LOUD and CLEAR and it wasn't just the fat lady, the black guy, the hispanic or the white auto worker who was out of work for months. This wasn't nearly as tight as it was predicted when you look at the totality of the electorate as well as the popular vote and the election was called as well as obvious at 11:15. Someone stated this wasn't about color but the post above reaks of it. I know just as many white folks on unemployment, welfare and food stamps as any other color. I also see that the electorate was pretty much right on target as what was predicted to be red and blue states. WHY? History and as I stated before it has rereated itself and will continue to do so time after time. History also tells us of the racial devide as that was the cause of our civil war. Individual folks may try to shuck and jive around the issue BUT it is evident in my eyes the political pundunts have NOT came as far as a lot of the nation has. If you think this is crap then I guess it just hasn't sank in that this is the second term for a president of color where a plurality of the people have spoken. I've seen and worked through many political races with total disregard to what politics were involved but rather what was better for my family and I as I compare what we need to what those stand for in power. In working for 30 years inside government I got to see pretty good into the fleecing of unknowing Americans by big corporations and I can tell you unequivically that the BIG dog food recall that killed numerous dogs was no different then all the food recalls that have killed many young children and the elderly in THIS country. I find it nauseating when one single person gets sick enough to have to live on a kidney dialysis machine the rest of their life, if in fact they live at all due to the greed of the almighty dollar by BIG CORPORATE America. Now, again I ask folks to look up the histroy of the parties to understand which party has a history of backing BIG business, financial institution and agriculture and compare that to which one backs the majority or the broad masses of the people and social equity. Here again I am relying on the facts as proven by the written word and not opinion that rolls from folks lips.

wardog let's me you and get something straight before this goes to far most had nothing to do with race or color it is in regards to lazy ass people that get government assistance that they don't deserve...evedintly you have a problem with race and color if you got that fm my post... Anybody that knows me knows that I am a realist I tell it how I see it so until you know me don't ever say I speak in regards to race and color!!!!

I believe this presidential election has ALOT to do with race. Ive never seen in the past elections so many Black people endorsing a president when both presidential parties were white.
People say its not a racial issue but it very much is! I do think alot of blacks and hispanics voted soley off skin color and on the other hand im sure that white people voted for Romney because of his skin color.

It will be intresting to see 4 years from now if both presidental parties are white, will all these blacks and hispanics endorse and come out to the polls and vote for a white guy like they did for Obama!?!

Toby I agree with 100%... My previous post got taken out of text and taken in deferent direction...I can't speak for other African Americans on how they voted but I vote for the person that I think can lead the country in the best possible way they could be pink,orange,purple or neon green with blue poka dots for all I care long as I think they'll do the right thing by the country and the working people I'll vote for them... us working people are what made this great country we live in what it is today...

I agree with Jim whole heartedly. Nobody wants to hear your pseudo-intillectual b.s. You and your kind can wax philosophical about a new Great Society all you want. You will not "improve" things. The only time your way of thinking can be implemented is AFTER a society has been built through the work and visions of true great men. Then other "great men" who have not contributed anything can come in to "improve" it by tearing it back down. If everyone is rewarded the same regardless of talent, work ethic, or contribution -a great society, community, or country will never be built for pseudo-intillectuals like you and your messiah president to take over.

Improve?? Name one thing Obama improved over the last 4 years.... Not a darn thing. Our national debt has almost doubled. The unempoyment is still way to high and more people are on foodstamps and welfare then ever before!!

I Will try to Support Obama because he is the president of my country and I do pray that he is a man of his words and keeps his promises. He seems like a nice guy and a family man. I just hope he's up for the job on his second term.

Thats all I will say on this subject. I hate politics and this is american beagler! Lets get back to what we all agree on. Beagles!

I get SOOOOO tired of people saying Obama is a socialist and yada yada yada yada..

SInce obama took over, gun laws are actually LESS restrictive, we are making a concerted effort to care for our sick, and NOTHING important has changed, NOTHING....

The reason why repubs lost isn't because they lacked strategy or ability, its that moderates don't like their attitude and the way they play obstructionist. How you Conservatives don't see this is embarrassing.

You all hate giving out handouts to people but don't complain when its somehting YOU want.. No welfare unless your unemployed, no health care unless you have a sick loved one. no new roads or education unless you have a pot hole or a child. WE ALL TAKE GOVERNMENT MONEY!!! And outside of medicad and social security welfare programs ARE NOT breaking this country.. Its not even in the top 5...

Funny that poverty and heavily populated inter-city areas of Ohio controlled the whole dang state. I honestly do not know a person that voted for Obama...no lie...personally, I do not know one....kinda leaving me scratching my head here today. When I called it a night most of Ohio was red with the exception of Cincy/Cleveland...sure makes a fella wonder how much his "vote" really counts at a national level.

Several million people without health care can now get coverage.
The auto industry is still here and thriving
The money we loaned banks is payed back with interest..
Other countries look at America as a peaceful nation who doesn't go picking fights because we can
BIN LADEN IS DEAD!
We ended one war and are ending the other in a few years.
The Bush tax cuts will expire and those at the bottom will get the help they need.


So.... I suppose he did nothing thats why he got over 50 million votes and will end up with 332 electorates.

Thanks for the words Mo. We probably agree on much more than we disagree on. At least we can disagree without losing civility.

You forgot a couple things:

1. The stock market has doubled.
2. Your 401K has tripled.
3. The NASDAQ is over 3000.
4. Unemployment is down.
5. Gays can serve openly in the military
6. Gun laws are less restrictive
7. Veterans are being respected and taken care of like no other time in history.
8. One other and very important thing: Our Nobel Peace Prize winning president and staunch backer of Israel will never put our boys into another war unless it is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. Our enemies fear us because this man will go to any length to get justice for those that harm us. Just check Osama as you said. But He will also go to any length to preserve the peace if possible.

Ohiohtr; How about Toledo? If ever a state had reason to support an economic policy, it is OHIO. Remember the "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt" statement? Bailing out the auto industry took guts.
