You are right Rabbithound!!!!

The households with a man and woman wirth two children and all getting benefits offered along with welfare averages $60,000.00 per year in Alabama and we are at the lowest level.

The same woman and man could never make that by working at the new $10.10 per hour as for both of them working 40 hours a week for 52 weeks equals $42,016 and a loss of all their other benefits like housing, insurance, medical, school lunches, and many others I'm not listing that they would have to start paying out of that $42,016.00 minimum wage so why work, it would be hurting their family to work and be pretty stupid to do so. Also would need transportation to and from work, clothes, etc.

Only ones that would be working is old folks, adding to their social security for a few cheap nicer things they might want, but, they must be careful or they will make too much and lose their SS monthly amount they paid weekly for all their lives.

Also citizens with disabilities or mental problems needing to add to their checks received monthly.

No need for an apology to me, I don't mind the caps.

SO
WE DONT RAISE THE MINIMUM WAGE ,SO THAT THESE BIG CORPORATIONS HAS TO PAY A FAIR WAGE ,WE EVEN CUT THE MINIMUM WAGE ,
When has minimum wage been cut?

THESE BIG CORPORATIONS ARE MAKING RECORD PROFITS,BUT ,ARE UNWILLING TO PASS ANY OF THIS MONEY,TO EMPLOYEES WHO ARE MAKING THESE PROFITS FOR THEM,
Can you give me an example with actual proof? I can give you an example of the company I work for. They had planned to hire 8 more this year. They have already interviewed and are waiting in a "hiring pool". When the forecast for the upcoming 2014 fiscal year came out a freeze was put on hiring. China is providing themselves with acrylonitrile now and the demand has reduced at the moment. On top of that the Texas plant is performing poorly due to maintenance issues and the cost of crude propylene. I'm not saying there isn't corporate greed because there certainly is, but I don't think it's to the extent that you speak of.

THESE CORPORATIONS GET SUBSIDIES FROM THE GOVERNMENT,ON TOP OF ALREADY SKY ROCKETING PROFITS,AND PEOPLE DONT SEE THE GAP BETWEEN THE ELITE IN THE MIDDLE CLASS GETTING WIDER.
What subsidies are you speaking of. Do you still drive a Government Motors Corporation made vehicle. If so, you have no right to talk about government subsidies as that would be hypocritical.
AMERICA ,SIMPLY CANNOT AFFORD TO CONTINUE ENTITLEMENTS ,TO ,EMPLOYEES OF THESE BIG CORPORATIONS ,,BECAUSE THEY THEY REFUSE TO PAY A LIVABLE WAGE,,,WAL MARTS AND THE TOP TEN CHAIN RETAURANTS COST TAX PAYERS MILLIONS EVERY YEAR IN ENTITLEMENTS BECAUSE OF THIS THEN ADD THE SUBSIDES SOME OF THEM GET AND IT COST EVEN MORE.IT IS EASY TO MAKE A PROFIT IN BUSINESS IF TAX PAYERS PAY EMPLOYEE WAGES OR YOU.
I agree we cannot afford to continue to pay subsidies at the rate we are paying them, corporate, private, or otherwise. However, some of the subsidies that you have referred to in the past aren't monies going to "big oil" companies, but rather to farmers who shouldn't pay road tax for farm equipment that doesn't use the roads and to low income families to heat their homes. You still don't understand that raising the minimum wage does nothing for the lower wage earners and prohibits more employment. Until you can show some numbers to verify your claims, I'm skeptical to say the least because what you are saying doesn't pass the common sense test. I'm not saying you are totally wrong, but I certainly don't agree entirely with everything you said.

I just don't see that raising the minimum wage has ever really helped. If it did, why do we have to continually increase it?

When you think about it... if raising it to $10.10 an hour is good, why not raise it to $20 or even $30 an hour? By this logic, it should make things even better... or would it?

If the minimum wage were $30/hour, people would lose their jobs, prices would go up, and the people we intended to help would be harmed. Raising the minimum wage doesn't enrich anyone. It does, however, decrease the value of the wages of those who are already making over minimum wage. If someone is making $10.10 before the increase, he then becomes a minimum wage earner, but his $10.10 doesn't buy as much. Therefore, he actually has a net decrease in wages after the so-called pay raise. For those who do get a raise in pay, they are getting it at the expense of those who lost their jobs because of the increase. You don't think that money is going to come out of the employers pockets do you?

There must be a better way to help those who are in need rather than continuing to do the same old, tired, worn out, ineffective trick we have used for years.

What do you think?

Steve you are exactly right. It is a simple trick the democrats have come up with to stir up the people who can't comprehend how the economy works. You are also right that the guy who has worked to get himself up to the $10.10 an hour will see the distance his money will go decrease. He might as well have gotten a salary decrease. This is a dodge by the democrats to try and get people focused on any issue except the utter mess Obamacare is.
