What difference does that make if their not doing their job they need to be gone. I have seen what your opinion is of the republican party and the accusations you have made against Bush that where completely your opinion and false. Having said that I hope you are exaggerating the situation for the sake of the young people in your state.

Democrats are such champions of education, how could this be?

The govenors felt it would cost them more in the long run then they were going to recieve from the stimulas.

If that is true it is an example of government expanding its power over the states to mandate how they use their budgets.
and they should have the option to turn it down. and let the one who needs it more have it like Pine Mt Beagles district, I an sure they would take the money....

You people are out of your collective, socialist minds...do you even read what you post???

You act like its a lottery drawing and woooohoooo, the states won the lottery!!!!

THATS WHATS WRONG WITH SE KENTUCKY, not a lack of help...I KNOW because I am from that area and still have family in Barboursville, Corbin and Artemus.

My Sister in law is a High School teacher in Oregon Who MAY be loosing her Job..
Obamas new Education package decided that Funding Education also means Consolidating Schools.......
We Dont need all these Rural Schools With only 15 to 20 kids a classroom Costs to much...
SOOOOOOOO lets Close Down 5 Schools By more Buses Expand the Existing Schools and PACK em in!!!!!!
45 to 50 kids per teacher We can by more Books make BIGGER libraries Add Computers More Councilors Ect
Now we will make the School days Shorter Also because they are going to be Spending More time on the Bus to and from..
And beings we Wont be having as many HOURS of Teaching we dont need More teachers So lets Get rid of all the Higher paid teachers with Seniority you know those that have been teaching 10 years or more, and We can also cut back on the benefits this way, save even more money.....Oh yeah we Wont have them Writing their own teaching Synopsis any more we will just give them the curriculum that they will be following Kids Dont need to Know how to cook or Build things So out goes the home economics and Shop Classes. Oh And Why do kids need to know anything about WWI or WWII and Who Cares WHY we went to nam Oh And that Stuff about how Gov Works They Dont really need to know that either Do They????
Who the heck Was Hitler and Stalin anyways????
BUT We got to make Sure they have Enough money to Supply the Birth Control pills and Condoms!!!!!
Have you LOOKED at What they are teaching kids now Days!!!!!!
Oh And this little thing About No KID Left behind it Aint Workin So lets just reWrite it to Fit OUR agenda Heck people Wont notice and if they Do We Will just have Obama Explain it all to Em........

Now With all these Schools Falling Apart we can get the States to take a little extra Funding to help Us Consolidate
We Will give em enough to get started and then let them Figure out how to Finish it!!!!!!
AND add a little for the Administration along the Way As you Know the Administrators Are All just So under paid!!!!!
And if we can put some extra Change in this Contractors pocket we can Help Stimulate the economy to While we are at it make it All LOOK GOOD............ :yuck: :yuck: :puke: :puke:
From Field to Show and Show to Field the way it should be

I think that's the reason. This all comes so fast, they don't know the strings attached to the money yet.
I think this is where they're leting them(the states) sort it out for themselves, those worried about the strings don't really need it and those who really do need it ain't worried about the struings, they just want to surive.
Some do need to get out and drive around for a look about, but with the mess the WORLD is in, not just this Country, I think time will come to humble some attitudes... ;)

Now tell me the Democrats don't buy votes. The strings attached is the problem of this Spending Bill. I'm glad to see Republican Governors turn down the parts with hidden Socialist changes. The Governator can't turn it down California has been a Socialist State for so long they ahve no choise than to take it,Arnold is a Democrat in cognito.

And the democrats and Obama will take advantage of them to gain control and increase their own power. That's what those compassionate liberals do.

the government used to help subside the states, and Bush used that money on his own BIG deficit, therefore the schools were left holding the bag......

Beaglechase the government still helps the states and should but it is the states responsibilty to spend that money on their states needs, again you are avoiding the question by taking a shot at Bush. Bush was not delagating how the states used their budgets. Thats what Obama is trying to do.
