I know I should NOT venture into this post but I can't help myself for several reason's and one of those is the fact that I'm a veteran from the OTHER petiful mess we ventured into that cost Thousands of young Americans their lives.
First off, Catfish my prayers are with you and your family for your son's safe return. Tell him that I say "Thank you" for doing what he does and that I'm greatful that he has chosen to sacrifice of himself so that I can get on here and speak my mind. Please tell him that I am Standing at attention, right now and saluting him as well as ALL others serving this country.
Secondly and most importantly is that I read someone use the term IMPEACH and I think that is precisely what needs to be done. Whenever YOU are the President of anything you are the one solely in charge and responsiblr for the decisions you make. When YOU, lie and order young men and women into harms way where thousands of lives are lost is one lie which I can not accept regardless of the party involved. Yes, a lie is a lie but in my mind there is a BIG difference in lieing about a cigar in the white house morally affecting two consenting adults and lieing about weapons of mass destruction, physically defecting or killing thousands who have no choice in the matter. I have a real hard time when a leader wants to puff up his chest and cowboy up at the cost of others lives when the coward wasn't man enough to do the same when he had the opportunity. Back then when he and as when I was in the military the regular Army personnel would scoff at the reservist, coast guard, air national guards and call them weekend warriors. No disrespect intended but they were never intended to fight on the front lines of battle but yet our fearless suck-a-titty leader could not even complete that. Yes, I'm upset as we have lost thousands of young folks lives for a lie. This administration claims it a war against terrorism but that's something that has been going on since nearly the beginning of time and will continue until all of us are gone. It happens frequently in other countries but it was a long time since it had happened on our soil serving to open our eyes of our security laxness of our borders. This presented the perfect scenerio for our cowboy leader to pursue his personal vandetta against a regime that not only threatened the life of his father but that his father didn't finish off when the opportunity was there. In my mind this war is NOT about freeing the Iraqi people, oil, democracy or even terriorism but rather an excuse to use our young people as pawns in a personal vandetta and it makes me sick. Folks can make denials all they want but facts are facts and if you think you are safer now than before this so called war I've got some excellant building sites available in New Orleans!

For all of you people bitching about putting young kids over there too fight. Why do the kids even join up to the military? Do they think when a war is going on they are just going to sit around i don't think so. If they don't want to fight they should of never joined.
Since some of you people say the president is controlling the gas prices. I guess if the next president is a democrat the price will drop dramaticly. And maybe they will take all of our guns away too.
One of my hobbies is flying RC planes and fuel for them is around $12 a gallon. But for my plane it's $30 a gallon, and that last about 4 flights thats what i call expensive. This $3.00 a gallon is nuthing maybe u need to get rid of your gas guzzling piece of crap or stop driving around so much cause the waste from that expensive gas u put in your car is just causing pollution and making holes in the ozone.

Ok I just want to put my 2 cents in real fast. First Catfish I hope for the best for your son. I just got back and know what he is feeling.
Now this war is fought mostly by the men and women that joined after 9-11. We all knew what we are getting ourselfs into. Now I really dont know anyone that wants to be fighting because War is not gloriful, but when ask to we will set our freedoms aside do protect yours we do so. I will gladly do my job over there to protect my kids and yours from having to deal with what we did on 9-11.
I know that alot of people are comparing this war to vietnam but its not. This is a war fought by a 100% volunteer force. These guys and gals are still signing there name on the dotted line knowing what is goin on over there. That makes me proud to serve with my brothers and sisters in arms.

I did 4 years in the USAF-never was in or around combat but I can say I would have done my duty. Most of these young men and women are Patriots,which is a declineing breed. I don't think Bush controls gas prices as the liberal Media would have me belive-I feel that the War on Terrorism is a Just War. The Liberals are after your Guns and Rights to hunt,if thats what you want vote one in Office or Congress. They will weaken this country!!! I also belive that the war in Irac is a just war-for several reasons,WEAPONS of MASS DESTRUCTION or not. Just my Opinion-and young men and women doing their duty gave me that right.

Catfish and anyone who has a family member in the armed forces,
God bless all of you.
I was in the Army National Guard during Dessert Storm. My unit received orders for deployment but the war ended before we left from Fort Knox and our orders were recinded. Catfish your son is undoubtedly proud to be serving his country, but I can tell you he is also scared to death. Untold amounts of emotions are coursing through his mind and body right now. I know that was my state of mind.
Someone in my family has served in every war since the revolution, except for me. I really feel guilty that I did not get the oppertunity to fulfill my obligation to my country. Now I am too old to rejoin. I would in a heartbeat. Dont get me wrong. I do not condone war, but I feel that every ablebodied American has a duty to their country.
I just wish that George Sr. would have finished the job he started. I do not know this to be fact, but I understand tha Bin Ladin was in the camp with Hussain and the Red Guard when our forces had them surrounded. And had congress listened to Oliver North, 9-11 could have been prevented.

HA!! I hate to say I told you so,,, but I told you so. A couple of years ago we got into a lively little discussion on here concerning the boy emperior. And basically I was thrashed,trashed,and bashed. I said back then the pres was poison and that it was all a pack of lies. And now everything I said has been proven to be true.Its beyond me how anyone could have been fooled by him in the first place... I would like to make a couple of points here. First, doesnt anyone here ever watch the news? Hilliary is one of the biggest supporters of the war there is in DC. Hell, she wants to send in MORE troops.. And then I read here all the time about your rights to own a gun taken away. I'll tell you when your guns are going to be taken away.. When them religious finatics and jesus freaks like Pat Roberson and Jerry Fallwell enough of the politicians in their back pocket.. After all,, you dont think Jerry Fallwell is going to let you have a gun and go out and kill all of gods little creatures do you... And if you need one to protect yourself then you got to give that up to because if someones trying to break in on you all you got to do is pray and the bad guy will Magically disappear. It just strikes me as bizzar that you would be worried about loseing your right to own a gun when you'r other rights are being taken away as we speak at this moment. Just this week they got the bill past that kills the right of right of habeas corpus. Unbelievable snce this has been around since the days of the magna carter. And one of the basic building blocks of our freedom and way of life here in the US. And then lest we forget that this administation has pretty well trashed our rights againts illigal search and seizure. And then ofcourse there's them pesky little illigal wire taps..
