You could tell there was no conviction. He finally knows he can't buy everyone a house, car, and healthcare while realistically doing anything about the deficit. The numbers have finally started to sink in for him and he doesn't know what to do.
All Obama had was generic talking points from his stump speeches and Romney killed him with a sledgehammer of specifics. Everytime Obama tried to kill the clock by getting into platitude mode, Romney made him pay for it. That's huge because that means that Romney basically went right at Obama's strength and won convincingly. That's a good sign. If Obama can't get into specifics after being President for 4 years, he won't be able to magically do in 2 weeks.
The most telling part was when he asked the moderator to "move on" to the next topic bc he realizes he was getting hammered on the economy.
