Jeff, if I have a hound that placed in a derby can I also run her in the regular 13 inch class trial or can I only run her in the 13 inch derby trial?
Thanks
Duane

She has to have been qualified in the 13" Class also through a qualifier or licensed trial to be eligible for the 13'' class.

Sorry, I am confused,
Are you saying that this is a AKC Lic. trial, where the points earned by the top four placing dogs count towards a FC?
And is it also the Midwest run off?
So I guess my question is, can any dog enter the Lic. trial or does it have to be qualified to enter? And if this is so, how can it be a AKC Lic. trial?

Are you saying that this is a AKC Lic. trial, where the points earned by the top four placing dogs count towards a FC?
Yes it's an AKC licensed trial and yes the top four placing hounds in each of the all-age classes will obtain points towards field champion title.
And is it also the Midwest run off?
Run-off is an archaic term, but yes this is the yearly championship event for the Midwest.
So I guess my question is, can any dog enter the Lic. trial or does it have to be qualified to enter?
No any dog can't just enter. Entries must have placed or won in 2010 at a regular Midwest club's licensed trial or all-age qualifier. Or in derby championship's case, they dog would have to have placed or won in regular derby trial. While it wasn't advertised as such, I believe in years past the association also voted that any AKC field champion or any dog having previously won the MWBGA championship was qualified to run as well. However you may wish to verify that with one of the actual association officers though.
And if this is so, how can it be a AKC Lic. trial?
Well because AKC voted to allow such beginning in 2011. Individual associations and federations are allowed to hold their "championship event" as an AKC Licensed trial and can restrict entries as well. Basically it's along the same lines as AKC does for their national championship events.

drifter,
The AKC approved associations to have their runoffs also be counted as a licensed trial. You have a whole year to get your dog qualified for the runoff.
Good luck to all that participate. 15" females should be tough this year.

OK I got it, thank you for clearing it up for me, I am a little slow on the draw sometimes
and I would say every class is going to be pretty tough this year, should be fun to watch

Just saw the updated High Hound points on the Mid-West site. Are there any more clubs left to report? It looks like one club either didn't turn thier results in or were late & were not counted. Am I right? If so, this is a shame because 3 classes are very close & may be effected by this.

Thanks Jamie; one club must have reported after thier 30 day grace period & that's why the placing hounds didn't get points.

Does the Championship Runoff count toward the High Hound point race? Thanks in advance.

Greg in regards to the first reply, yes I saw the 0 points too. :-) Answer to your second question is yes. Points from championship count towards prior years HOY standings.

Actually, I think 2 clubs must have turned thier results in late. I guess this happens from time to time; it's not the Association's fault.

This may or may not be something we want posted but what clubs did not turn in results in time?? Also if they don't turn in results on time does that effect championship points??
