Are you gonna be there Sat. night Jimbo for the pig roast? I've been sick, but feeling better. We found out what was wrong with Valentine; nothing too serious; she had a urinary tract infection & was extremely constipated. She's already feeling better Marv says & hopefully we'll get to run her Sunday. Wouldn't mind coming up Sat evening if everything goes well. Give that derby another dose of the Mid-West; you know he can handle it. Later, Wells

Greg, I have run my derby as hard as possible, noticed him a packing his rh front leg tues of last week, I kept looking at it nothing out of the ordinary. Layed him up as of 10/4 he is still packing it all i can figure there is a tight woven fence where i am running. He musta hurt a shoulder trying to fence. My luck. Told shorty guess i gotta send him to the vet, freaking vet is killing me this year. If something miraculious happens tonight he is run in and i will finish him up. I have seen some pretty tuff hounds this year, smart enuff to know he needs to be healthy and on all 4 . Derby or not. Wanting to come hate to break Abby out on ya. .......But she is eating doggie painkillers and kicking azz in the pack. We will see.

Yeah, I know how you feel. I had an awesome big female about 6 or 7 years ago I guess it was, named Tramp. She could have got her title for sure in my opinion; she had it all & could run off & leave a pack on good scent. She hurt her leg one night & I couldn't ever run her hard like you need to to compete in the Mid-West without her coming up lame. I ran her in one trial & boy she put on a show; nothing could catch her & she was right on the line making it look easy, but sure enough, she started limping at the end of a hour or so hard race in first series. She was called back to the winers pack, but I scratched her after the judges agreed to let me when they saw how bad she was limping.

Hopefully, you don't have that kind of luck with your male. It's a wonder our dogs don't get injured more than they do as hard as they go & as much as we run them.

I hope we get to run Sunday; it depends if the antibiotics work & the vet gives us the okay. If not, we have a derby that we wouldn't be ashamed to show up with. We might bring her if Marv thinks she's ready. I always liked getting in a pack with your Abby dog because she would jump one for us everytime. She is a good one. Later, Wells
