This should be a nice hunt. Guys, come out and support this new club and it's a chance to show off your best dog.

With the rabbit season coming to an end ...everyone's dogs will be rock hard and ready to roll.

Looking forward to it.

Does a dog have to be ARHA registered or can they be entered if only AKC registered? Also how do you cast the dogs in LP...Do all cast go out at once and run in different places or do you take one cast out at a time?

A hound can be registered at the hunt. Hounds are broken down into 4 to 5 dog cast depending on how many entries. At that time, the master of Hounds will determine which cast go out according to the judges available until all cast are run. The winner of each cast will recast for your winners pack. Hope this helps.

Yes your dogs will need to be NKC/ARHA registered, this can usually be done the day of the hunt. The fee is $18.00 to register your dog, any Beagle is eligible for registration as long as it is Registered with AKC, UKC or it would need to be inspected by a AHRA breed inspector to verify its a pure bred Beagle. I would bring a photo copy of your dogs AKC or UKC pedigree if you have one available. Also, you will need to join a AHRA Beagle Club somewhere to run in the hunt as well.

The dogs go out in casts of 5 dogs, hunt for an hour and then the winner of the cast advances. Hope this helps, the NKC website is a good source of information as well, as far as the rules and so forth. Happy hunting!
