THANKS SO MUCH GARY for putting the Indiana Beagler's Alliance message board on so folks can go check out what is happening legislatively, rule change wise, what the antis are up to, and all the upcoming issues facing Indiana. Indiana Beaglers alliance is very pro active in protecting and defending our hunting heritage. We attend the NRC hearings, NRC advisory commitee hearings, are active at the statehouse, and sit on Fish and Wildlife's Conservation Advisory Committe making sure the voice of the sporting dog person is heard. The Alliance message board in no way wants to be considered competition for any other established message board. We consider it an extention of great sites like the Beagler.

Tuesday November 16, 2010 is the next Natural Resource Commission hearing. On the agenda, again, is the Fox and Coyote dog training and field trialing enclosures. It would appear that Indiana Department of Natural Resources is again thumbing its nose at orders from the Governor's office. Though Fish and Wildlife did send two people to Bill Myers enclosure at Jasonville, Indiana ( Major Steve Hunter and Leanna Petercheff from Fish and Wildlife ) to inspect and view a field trial, They are only offering to allow enclosures that are at least 300 acres. There is no provision for the private individual who merely wants to fence off fifty acres or so in order to train his young dogs. Fish and Wildlife found that there is nothing wrong with a training enclosure but are siding with HSUS in closing the dog training areas. We are working with the Govenors office and asking them to honor the promise we were given before the elections, The promise was that no enclosures would be banned. The sportsmen have no problem with all the other restrictions that are being placed on Coyote enclosures, but to not allow for small dog training areas is not acceptable.

WE WILL BE NEEDING EMAILS, PHONE CALLS AND LETTERS IN THE COMING WEEKS. PLEASE BE READY AND WILLING TO HELP KEEP THIS OPPORTUNITY FROM BEING CLOSED TO US. We will notify everyone when the response to the NRC is needed.
