D.O.G.S. will be watching this bill. We would like to see it amended to say "The executive director shall adopt rules pursuant to RSA 541-A, relative to the period for the training of [bear] dogs for hunting."
This would clarify the intent of the bill.
We hope that people who feel strongly about this issue will make their views known to the committee. If they can't make the hearing, they should contact the committee members by phone or email.

New Hampshire wants to adopt rules governing the training of all hunting dogs, beyond requiring a $5 license. The AKC federation's (D.O.G.S.) alert indicates that it will support such a change, as long as the bill is clarified so that only trainers of hunting dogs, but not other dogs, are subject to the new law. This is a variation on the ploy of asking to exempt owners of dogs who have participated in an AKC show or event. The antis love it when we divide ourselves into smaller and smaller pieces.
New Hampshire's kind of a strange place for dog owners. I still have family there. The state's got a very aggressive subsidized "voluntary" spay-neuter program funded by a $2 license fee surcharge and private money. In order to get everyone to buy dog licenses, they cross check against vet rabies vaccination records and have dog license police. These people go door to door asking neighbors which families own dogs and checking the number and size of dog turds in yards.crewchf wrote:Ain't their State Moto, Live Free Or Die,,, we'll see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a result, the state's got one of the highest licensure rates in the U.S. It turns out this extra money collected is used 85% to spay-neuter cats, which aren't licensed. In order for you to qualify for a subsidized spay-neuter by the local humane society, there's a morals test and a home inspection. Was there beer in the frig, do they smoke? No low cost spay-neuter.

Seems the Federalies found several of our OUTSTANDING Counties down here collecting the $40.00 FEE and checking NOTHING as far as background checks!!! We can no longer use our permits to buy weapons with out an instant check!!! Isn't life Grand when CROOKS are everywhere today??? Of course our CWP's in Georgia are worthless as toilet paper as the Cops consider everyplace we go a public gathering anyway, go figure!!!!!
