I have a dog that is 5 years old and I would like to register him with AKC but his litter was not registered. Both of his parents were though.
Am I able to register this dog? And how do I go about it?

It helps the research department if you have AKC info about the dogs in the pedigree. Especially AKC numbers and name changes etc... Fax your Sire/Dam and any info you have to AKC Registry research. They will send the necessary paperwork to you if the dog passes. Then you fill out the paperwork and send $30. The registration will arrive in aproximately 30 days from when they receive the paperwork. Not sure if this information has changed or not, been a while since I researched it.
Best thing to do is give AKC a call and they can point you in the right direction.

Md, told you the correct info. I just did one a few months ago.it saves a lot of time to either email or fax the information to them, instead of mailing.
