Houndsmen are notoriously slow to recognize and realize the worth of a top,pre-potent,reproducing stud dog.Usually the dog in question is at the end of his reproductive life or already dead when the light finally goes on and we have that epiphany that gives us those "aha moments".Maybe I should have bred something to old Striker,Shaker,Ninja, etc.?
We see in the pedigree of a top performer where some of these hounds keep showing up and then folks try and capture those outstanding traits by using sons, daughters, grandsons, half brothers, etc. Some with success. When this happens the bloodline soars as we all want to "catch lightening in a bottle".
Some hounds when bred judiciously continue to pass on their traits in several succeeding generations.Shaker and Striker appear to be ones that do.

Shaker ,Striker ,Ninja ,Ranger Dan ,Mad max all these lines are in the top ten all time producers I believe , IFC HAUNTED HILL SHAKER has 31 Fc's sired.Ninja line of course goes back to FC JACK OF ALL TRADES who is also in the top ten.Shaker was also a Fox hunt champion ran against dogs of larger size I am told .Mountain Man if he had lived longer may have been the all time producer .You have to recognize it .Monkman sure did.

I think it's becoming more popular now,and that's why your seeing more of it. Guys are breeding these lines more often because of the great success of Shaker/Striker with Awful Bawlin,Three Jays Jacks, etc etc. It's hard to overlook the producing power of Shaker,Striker,Ninja. It has been popular up north for a while with breeders like Monkman and Jack Blum. My buddy Arlie has been foolin with Shaker/Striker bred dogs for a lil while, and he would always tell me "it's just a matter of time before it catches on down here in the Midwest" lol. I think it's startin to catch on down here pretty good now.

I don't have it because it's popular, in fact I just happened in to it. I like the lines ability to drive a track. By that I don't mean they are the fastest dog, but instead can hold onto the line consistently before creating a check. When they do come to a check they work it close. I'm not going to sit here and say they are the greatest thing since sliced bread because that isn't the way I roll, but I sure do like this line so far. Doesn't mean I won't have something else in my kennel either. A good dog is a good dog I don't care if it Branko, Awful Bawlin, Northway, or Patch.
