We only have hare up here in maine and I hunt with a Thompson contender 15" inch 45/410 and love it I shoot 3 inch number 4 s would not trade it for any other gun out there. It's a very fun gun to hunt with and when you shoot that hare on the run and just roll it in its track it has to put a smile on your face and disbelief in the guy standing next to you.LOL

Contender with 10" octagon barrel. Has been my primary hunting gun for the past 20 some odd years. Comparatively lightweight & carries nicely in a belt holster.
Oh, only have hare up here too.
