On private land in Indiana, have you been seeing many rabbits? I have had farmers tell me they saw a lot this season while harvesting crops.
Personally, it seems as if there might be a few more around.
Any rabbits

AV, we have been seeing alot of rabbits everywhere we run. We have been running in Coatsville, Belleville, Plainfield, Mooresville areas. I ran on new ground in Mooresville and the dogs looked like a bunch of buttholes. There were so many rabbits they could not circle one. We have decided to hunt that place to thin them down a little. I ran a young dog yesterday morning early and we had one run that lasted two hours. I have thought there are alot of large rabbits this year. We run on private land and everyone is still in the middle of deer hunting so maybe latter on more will be out rabbit hunting. BE AWARE OF DOG THIEVES, THEY ARE OUT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Consider yourself lucky. Rabbits on mine properties are few and far between. 3 yr ago I could hunt down there most all season and shoot at a couple every day, but now. Ha ha ha. every year gets worse and worse. I hope we can get early season closed on Minnie and Hilderbrand for a while and some form of predation control. Good luck
Went to Minnehaha Saturday. Was there from sunup till about 4:30. We tried to stay out of the woods due to the deer hunters, so we stayed in the grass. Couldn't see a thing. We managed to shoot two, but saw glimpses of a lot more. Our dogs ate that grass the whole time....never quit hunting. On some rabbits, they circled the stupid thing 3 times. And, these were BIG circles. It definitely wasn't due to lack of hunt on the hound's part....they were beat up by the end. 3 of my dogs still won't open their eyes from the friction burns on their eyelids. Two of the dogs were missing pieces of hide from the grass. All tails were bloody. I will end by saying this....a bad day of hunting is better than a good day of work!
