I am planning a weekend trip to the northern zone between February 21 and March 15. I really have no experience with the area other than fishing the Salmon River once.

Any general locations to explore would be appreciated.

Thanks and good luck with the rest of the season.

There is a lot of state land around Barns corners and plenty of Hares. Travel up Rt 177 between Lowville and Adams. Sears Pond is also a good spot. If you look on DEC state land interactive maps you can ck. areas out. Good luck be prepared for a lot of snow.

Thank you Mr. Kohler. That's exactly the info I am looking for.

Sears Pond is 5hrs and 12 mins from my door. Well within range for a weekend hunt.
