To Emery (I'm sure you really know don't you ?): The ARHA-NKC is a registry and field trial association for rabbit hounds in America. With 170 clubs nationwide, the ARHA-NKC sanctions field trials for Beagles and Harehounds. All beagles and harehounds are eligible for registry with the ARHA-NKC. The field trials are divided into divisions which feature all the different running styles of rabbit hounds. Fast tracking hounds compete in Little Pack and Big Pack. Medium speed hounds compete in Progressive Pack, and the tighter, line-control hounds compete in Gundog Pack and Gundog Brace. They also have bench competitions at our hunts which are judged on the hound's conformation to the breed standard.

MSWV, I do know what the ARHA is. I was just making a little fun because the person who originated the post didn't have the guts to sign his/her name but then says that Ohio has the best judges. Hmmm, where is the validation in that?

I agree with all on the first post, but would add Rick Burkholder.

Tony Kildow, or Tyge Beck would get my vote.
It takes a houndsman to be a judge.

I've ran under all of the above. They all do a good job, but in my opinion Jay Herschberger is in a class all of his own!

I've not been to any big hunts, but some of the best I've seen here at the clubs I've been to are John Maynard,Eddie Smith,John Cains, and Lynn Perkins. All of these guys give 110%,they do there best to stay with the dogs and don't care to get in the brairs, and all will judge the dogs not the owners.

There was a young man that came back from judging a cast at the state hunt in Lynville this year that was cut up from head to toe. This fellow was about 6ft looked like a football player i guess he was hittin them briar patches down the middle just like them dogs. Talk about dedication he was bleedin like a stuck rabbit. I think he was trying to commit suicide.lol. I hope he buys some britches..
