Fence posts

Has anyone tried using oak, maple or ash for fence posts. We have many 6-8" diameter trees on our club grounds. Couple members suggested trying to plant some along perimeter. Thinking about stripping bark from bottom couple feet, dipping in foundation coating before lowering into augered hole. Have only ever used locust or treated. Bit skeptical about? Any feed back would be appreciated.

I think all three would rot quickly. Use treated or cedar or locust.

Use Treated, locast or Osage orange posts.

For LONG range, use concrete.

Hedge or locust is the best imo
