Dew claws
Is a week old to old to cut the dew claws off?
Re: Dew claws
I wait till a week to do mine, no issues thus far. Good luck!
Re: Dew claws
I don't think it is.

Re: Dew claws
I do all my pups at two weeks old so one week old shouldn't hurt them at all.
Re: Dew claws
If you run them were there's alot of snow you can tear them off. Pretty painful for the dog, better to take them off when there pups.

Three to five days is what the vet told me. I also dock the tails at the same time.

Re: Dew claws
My pups rarely have them on their rear legs, I do have the fronts removed at 3 to 5 days old.
As intrepid stated, up here with snow and ice, they get tore up bad breaking through if you don't have them removed.
