the worst i ever seen that showed up in ever cross that a beagl breed was cut and slash Seen it most in patch hounds they where always rough. -----------second would be slowe dogs such as (walky talky) that is what i call them.
Third would have to be STUPID if you have a stupid dog is seems to be a strong trait that you can not get out.-------------------

dhoundman, Interesting topic. I just wanted to address stupid, where stupid affects the running of a hound, What are some things that you consider brains in a hound in this regard that you do not believe is attributed to " blood" Can you name some instances where a hound shows brains and not blood and that leads to better running. I understand a hound has to have a brain as does a chipmunk , but could you point out some instances of superior intelligenge in a hound that could not be attributed to blood. How about when a hound skirts a brushpile , some would say brains' I would say that all hounds have enough intelligence to figure that out but having the proper blood , we get out of the embarrassing situation of having to explain how " smart " our hound is, and how his superior intelligence has led to this( faulty) action.

I have been raising and training Patch hounds for 20+ years.
I do NOT like cutting, swinging, cheating hounds. I wouldn't get many rabbits up here in the winter if they were like that.
I wouldn't get many rabbits neither if their noses were as bad as some have stated in other threads as well.
Could they use more nose, absolutely. I think any honest houndsman would say their hounds can always use more nose.

There is a broad range out there and I know there are ones like what you have stated, but there are many that are not.
It all depends on where/whom you get them from.

I totally agree! Not all Patch Hounds are like that. I also do not like hounds that cut swing and cheat but I have witnessed some that do. To say that most Patch Hounds run like that is just not right.

this is the worst post you ever made dude ./ to run down a whole line of dogs because of what maybe 1 or 2 you have seen is ridiculous.

I be raising patch hounds for 11 years have had some cheaters ,swinger ,slashers. but mostly thet are pretty good dogs .great hunt.honest mouths,easy broke. easy handling dogs . quiet in kennel.quiet in box. what else could I ask for .

This guy is just negative.

If U look U will find rough , cutter, slasher , cheaters in any line . U need to get off the computer and get out in the field more . JMHO

Anyone else notice how he has been blowing up this board and then after the original post never says another word. I see he's got a reggie dog for sale in the dog for sale section that can't circle its own rabbit but "it will be ok with some time" for ONLY $500 . Maybe we should all worry about that line as well since the individual dog can't circle one . If i've seen it right he's now bashed patch dogs, the mid west assn, most judges (because they are ALL cheating), how owners handle deer runners, how many litters someone has a year an i'm sure i've missed some. man bro your not exactly making friends.

THIER ALL GO AGAIN MAKING MORE OUT OF WHAT I SAY THEN ITIS REALLY SAYIN. MOST YOU GUYS THINK I NOW IT ALL AND YOU ARE WRONG. dhoundman, My post was not meant to inflame you but to get a knowledgeable response from you as well as some others on the topic of stupid or brains, I hear a lot of talk about "brains" but it doesn't appear anyone can list any particular attributes to them,( above what the normal hound possesses) in the hounds running of it's game. I wonder why? At any rate some have taken a shot at you , but my only complaint is you have went back to using your caps lock, this in itself brings unwanted negative attention to yourself!
