I've got a male that I bought several years ago he would backtrack from the hole to where the rabbit was jumped started shocking him pretty hard it stoped him.

had 2 over the years that have done this and broke both. When i knew they were doing this i would meet the dog on the line that i knew about which way the rabbit went and intercept the hound on the back track and shout NO while i swatted the hound with my cap. I then called the hound the direction the rabbit went, (the way the hound was coming from) and encouraged the hound to go back in the correct direction. Usually they would work back toward the loss and pick up the check, rejump the squatted rabbit or lead me to the hole. In any case after the run was over or they led me to the hole i would praise the hound by petting him or her and encourage to find another. After a few times problem solved.

i never had to resort to using a collar, that is what worked for me. Good luck
