Any rabbit that ran that well might have won his freedom for another race another day. Just saying.

rabbitatfarm, tc97 owed it to his dog to shoot that rabbit.

If my dog can hang onto a track for that long then I would also shoot it for my dog. Great job young man!

tc97, you keep on shooting them for that hound. He can run them for fun from the day after the season goes out to the day it comes back in.

I meant no offense to anyone. I, too, might have rewarded the dog, especially if it was his first. On the other hand, with runs consisting of jump & run 20 yards to a hole lately, those long runners might have passed on some good genes. Those long runners learn, and teach our dogs new tricks to keep them sharp. We ran a rabbit in two big circles only to have three dogs get a hold of him in a thicket. It was about half grown. A couple of years ago, we ran one into the basement of an old barn. It came out on the first floor; to this day I don't know how he got up there. I believe, he just liked to run and enjoyed the game as much as the dogs. Love those rabbits that like to run--but I like baked/fried rabbit too.

No offense taken there. I'm just gettin my hound ready for this hunt this weekend at mercer, been poudin him lately, just figured id go out and have A little fun with him that night and do some shootin. he's gettin me excited i pulled the map up on the garmin and it was telling me that he was makein 220yd circles after the third circle there i kinda thought if i didn't shoot it then i wasn't gnna get home anytime sooni. Wish it was morning time i jumped that rabbit, i coulda seen just how long that rabbit would have ran. Eaither way me and my dad have been runnin dogs since iwas born and

i am haveing a beeter tine than ever now that I'm older and know what's going on!

Rabbit dog!
Lot of dogs can't get 1 circle....3 circles is separating himself from the norm....good job!
