I bought a dog and he come with a NKC/ARHA measuring card! Question is when I swap his papers to my name will I have to get him remeasured for another card or will they just send me another card in my name ?

The card may be valid but any dog can be checked at anytime if I am not mistaken. Is it possible to be measured after having the card in all formats? Thanks for the help.

In AKC Once official Measured the dog can not be measured again at a trial
Unless there is a rep there from AKC that is checking Official Measurements
That happens about once in a blue moon

Once hound has measuring card it is always good, even through different owners.BUT a hound can be measured at anytime if someone has issue with size. Card or not. I know this applies for Lil Pack.

Only time they can be protested on measurement is at the staging area before the cast leaves to go out in the field..

So what is the point in a measuring card if the dogs can still be challenged?

The measurimg card speeds up the sighn in at little pack hunts if you have it all you have to do is show it when you register in the hunt but judges have to ask if anyone has a question about a hounds size at the start of a cast and hound can be measured at that point but the card is handy when sighning in.

Thanks tuff e nuff. That's what I meaning to say was at staging area if somebody has issues.
C Clark is right to. It speeds up the sign in before a trial.
John S is also correct it's way to make more money, but it cost $8 bucks to get card, comes in handy at times.

Ive been away from NKC trials for some time, I don't recall ever having to pre measure at a little pack hunt. So how does it speed up registration?? :bash:

I won't pay for a card till its official then. Bought 2 cards in the past but won't give the money again till its official. That's like me selling you a dog collar with a warranty and not respecting the warranty if returned! Lol
