Lati's Brush Hog is going into the reproducers hall of fame with 135 points with limited breedings. I have 2 champions and a grand out of him. One of my litters off him had 3 champions and 1 grand with another about to grand out. I'll ask Bob how many litters he has sired.

From what I've been told, Armando's Levi had produced a good number of FC. I think he died young though.

I've not researched it through any search engine but have heard many times from those in the northeast that knew Ninja and his owner Vic Costanza well that Ninja sired 48 litters and averaged a field champion per litter=48 ?

What is missing is how many of the pups were sold to trialers and trialed, and how hard?
That would make a big difference in the amount of champions.
I would be far more interested in how many pups out of their litters were put down for being a sorry hunting dog or the opposite, how many pups percentage wise made real good hunting dogs for the area and conditions we hunt in.

I would prefer to see how many pups are registered, therefore likely hunted, then base the numbers off of that. Not 35 litters and 17 fc's, ex. 200 pups/20 fc's equals 10%. gives you a much better idea, JMO.
They do this with UKC coonhounds, most times hounds with biggest number of pups equals lowest percentage, ex. Swamp Rooster at one point had almost 3,000 pups, all good, but his percentage of champs of any degree was only 5%. Just an example.
My uncle had a hound with under 500 pups but almost 50 champs, equals 10 percent. BIG difference.
Reggie's numbers would not be favorable as far as percentage goes if he has 1500 pups on the ground. Not bashing just true.
Shaker had however many champs and so on and so forth, but total pup numbers will give you the most accurate results.
What if in 35 litters there were only 100 pups? What if in 35 litters there were 185 pups.....total pups tells the whole story for percentages.
