Hey guys I was wondering what kind of chaps yall prefer... I still use my dads thats probably about 15 years old. He got it out of the bill boatman magazine, they were called Deluxe Tuff Legs, I have never ever had a problem with them and would l;ove to find another pair just like them but I cant find them anywhere now that bill boatman co. is gone. Does anyone know anybody that sells this same kind? What I like about these is that it has the full zipper that makes it super easy to take on and off and my legs never get torn up!

I like the Wicks brand better than Boatman but of coarse Wicks is out of business too . I bought 2 extra pairs when I heard they were closing . Their is another outfit that is supposed to make the same thing as Wicks ( same material ) think it's called Stonecreek Kennel & Supplies . They do have a web-site just not 100% sure name is correct .I'll try to varify that name.

Hey free, Mule is the closest kind of material to what Bill's chaps were made of. I have a pair of mule pants that I love. Because they are waterproof they are just to warm to wear anytime other than below 35-40 degrees. On days it warms above that I have a pair of waterproof Dan's chaps. Only reason I didn't buy Mule summer chaps was because I picked up the Dan's on impulse at a trader days. That said, I like both my Mule pants and my Dan's chaps.

I had a pair of Mule chaps that I wore for a long time -they were tough. One thing that I didn't like about them is that I got the water proof chaps that had a lining in them.they were way too hot wearing them in any kind of warm weather. When you took them off you'd have sweated so much that your pants were wet anyways. In cold weather they were great.
Have a pair now that I got from L.L. Bean. They were kind of pricey but I've had them 6-7 years and they are just starting to fray around the cuff. Here in Tn. it seems everything has thorns on it and they've had a workout and still good.

i bought a pair of chaps from cabelas and they lasted about one season. now i have a pair from filson double tin and they have never let me down and i dont plan on buying another pair any time soon becouse i think these will last me a long time. better than a pair of chaps is having dogs that will go in the brush so you dont have to. lol

There are a lot different brands out there, Filson, LL BEAN, mule, dans,etc...
I purchased a pair of NITELITE chaps and very pleased with them. They are very light weight and durable. They have them in NITELITE catalogue for 24.99. They say waterproof and breathablity. I've noticed on warm days I do have sweat patches on pants, but I seem to sweat easier than others too. Lol. Also have full leg zipper easy to get on/off. So far I'm very pleased with them. When weather is colder I use the NITELITE bibs.
