Have you?

Have you ever sold a pup/hound before really giving it a fair chance and end up regretting it because the pup/hound turns on?
I currently have two grade pups (male & female). I had been taking them out lately and the female was showing steady progress but the male wasn't. I was giving a lot of thought to selling the male, but I was afraid it would come back to haunt me.
Anyways, Saturday morning I went with a friend and I was able to kill a rabbit and the pups finally got some hair in their mouths! Today (Sunday), I really wanted to get them out to see how they would react after a successful hunt the day before. Therefore, I talked to my father in law and he told me to bring them up after Church and we could take them with his two older hounds. I did and we took them to a strip job. The hunt started off slow, but boy did it pick up as the sun started to set and the rabbits started stirring. We ended up having 4 races. The last race was a really good one and my male ended up leading the pack. Lol, it was like a light switch turned on for him. Both pups did well and I can't wait to get them back out. Deer season comes in this weekend so I won't be able to run them because rabbit season goes out for the first two days of gun season. I'm going to try my best to get them out as much as I can this week!
