A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
I came accrossed this pic when looking for one to answer a post and thought I would re-post it.
It is a pic of my Dad that was taken about a year before he died. He is holding max as a pup. Although he was never well enough to go rabbit hunting with me and the dogs he is the one who taught me about hunting and like a lot of us if it weren't for him I would have never known what hunting was or what it is really about.
He was a great man and an excellent example of how to be a Christian, person, father, provider, husband, and a man. Here he is at my wedding, dad never was much on going beagling, he would have loved it but health issues never really allowed it. Miss him a bunch.
Gotta add one of Papaw with his girls
Happy Father's Day Dad.

Crow,
My Dad never hunted rabbits with me and my dogs either. I was a late bloomer into beagle-ing and he was not well enough to get out by the time had my dogs, but when I was younger we bird hunted with our dogs and he loved that. He loved listening to the rabbit hunting stories me an my sons would tell and he did get to see them on video and pics. He was a dog man and made us a dog family.
I cant remember a time when my dad didn't have hounds and when he stopped raising dogs I started. Thanks dad for passing on the love of the outdoors and the passion to be a houndsman. I have the torch and it will continue to burn bright through me and my sons

I've postwd a picture in the past of my dad holding a large pike and a beagle standing behind him on the porch. I can't seem to find it at this time but the first time I saw the picture I said to myself "now I understand" pike fishing and running rabbit are my two most favorite things to do. I lost him 7 years ago but his love of Drummond Island and rabbit dogs, was instilled in me at a you age and for that I thank him.
