Ok guys I need some more help. I turned out my female yesterday evening for a little while and she was hit and killed by a car. But she has four pups that are just over a week old. Is there any way to save these pups. Not sure how or what to try to feed them. Any help would be appreciated.

Enfamil CompletePremixed or powder you can mix), in the baby food section. 3-5mil dropper, not syringe. They can suck straight out of it.

I think they need fed about every 2-3 hours so that will be your challenge. Don't overfeed, probably worse than underfeeding.

Good luck!!

Do not forget to take a warm wet paper towel after each feeding and stimulate their butts to make them poop.

I would call your vets around your area and ask them if they knew of anyone or themself that has a female with pups that your pups could use. If you would tell them your story I'm sure someone would help you out.

Well only one of them would take to the bottle or the dropper but all of them sucked it out of my hand and acted real lively after that so I have a little hope. Thanks for the help it may have saved at least some of my pups.

you might check around and see if anyone around you has had a liiter of pups that were just weaned. they might let you put your pups on the female.

I never let a bitch out with pups, always been paranoid something like this would happen or the bitch would pick up something and bring it back to the pups like parvovirus. Good luck hopefully you can save some of them.

My wife has bottle fed several Go to Walmart an get goats milk if you know anyone that raises goats it would be cheaper. She likes the regular baby bottles over the little ones for pets. Don't forget to burp them and like mentioned earlier get them pee and poop. We use cotton balls dipped in warm water and don't forget to keep them warm and no drafts. We kept the last litter in a little kids pool. Makes clean up easier. Good luck with them. She can tell ya alot more then me. If you need anything pm me and I'll get her number to ya

Call the animal shelters in your area. They may have a bitch with small pups that you could use to raise your pups. A Buddy of mine had a similar problem. There was a lady who loved animals who worked at the animal shelter. She took his pups and fed them for three weeks until they would eat and refused to take pay. Good lusk.

That is a good video and really could help. I lost a female with three pups that were 20 days old. They struggled with the bottle, so we let them lap. One did not make it and I think the reason could have been pneumonia caused by liquid food in the lungs. The tube eliminates that possibility by putting the food in the stomach.
It was a heck of a hard job feeding pups morning noon and night, but the 2 that made it are 10 months old and I just listened to them running a couple of rabbits just a little while ago. The time was well spent.

I would keep looking for a surrogate for them to nurse. A few years ago my Northway bitch raised a litter of pit bull puppies. Their dam had died from dog fight injuries. She took them right in and let them nurse right away. Very strange looking litter, but it worked out great! Good Luck!
