I have an idea!

Post by Emery »

Imagine for a minute, if you will, what it would be like if all of us that frequent the online beagle sites got together somewhere centrally located for a big cyber-beagle event. I have heard that eastern Kansas has a good rabbit population this year and lots of wide-open area to run lots of dogs. Bev and Ralph show up pulling a 30-foot gooseneck 5th wheel trailer to house their 21 (jail breaking) dogs. Sally (aka Oakhill) comes with her kennel of 18 blueticks, however she doesn’t need a gooseneck trailer, just a 30-foot will do. SBK comes with his 5 dogs, Swing brought his 7 crooked legged Branko wanna-be’s. Tnbeagleman makes the trip with his 7 dogs, DRamey comes to pray for such a large group of beaglers. JMurphy, WSRandy, and S.R.Patch come along for some fun too. ‘Ole Swing wouldn’t be at home without his best friend Lynn Perkins, who happens to bring along his whole kennel too (for some serious bragging rights). Big Dog makes the long trip from NC, Blackdirt shows up from IL (I think). Vickie lassos Doc. S. and brings him along too, because everyone knows you need a doctor in the house for an event this big. Snowshoehareguide, Steve C., and NYHillbilly represent the N.E. section of the US. AlabamaSwamper brings dogs from the deep south. What about BOB? Of course, he (PZTrailman) would have to be there so we wouldn’t have to ask, “What about BOB”? And of course, I would have to show up and write a good honest story about all the happenings that went on. So one could get the truth instead of the one-sided views of each person talking about their own dogs.

Now, wouldn’t that be a great time? However, I don’t think the rabbit population would ever recover! They would have to cordon off the area afterwords for lead poisoning. What do you think? Who gets to be in charge of organizing such an event? Bev could start her new beagle registry right there on the spot, pay off the magazine with all the dogs that were registered… and drop all the advertisements from the mag and just have nothing but stories and hunt results. Now there is an idea!

ROTFL! What's wrong with southern Indiana? LOL! Gonna make everyone come out to your backyard, eh? The folks that have known me since I was a moddy for BeaglesUnlimited Bulletin Board know I've been makin' noises about having an online beagler get-together for a long time. It would be a blast! I don't think I'd ever start a registry, tho', and magazines can't exist without ads.

Getting all us ladies in one spot at the same time with our dogs will be your biggest challenge, but hey, it can be done. Image

I dont think this would work very well unless you could supply Swing with one of them laptop computers with wireless Internet service. Everyone knows that the only hunting Swing does is done behind a keyboard and a computer screen.

It is a long dry ride through the desert out west, Or, ID and UT is a long way to travel without water... :) Sorry I forgot about you TC. I sorted by number of posts to catch most of the people that voice their opinion regularly (300 or more posts). I guess you haven't been giving us your 2 cents worth enough... While you are at it, grab Tony Dobbs from WA and bring him along. It has been a long time since he has seen my cold nosed dog run (and this time she won't have eaten 3 days supply of dogfood right before the trial). He'll know what I mean...

I couldn't type all the names... I would still be at it. Of course everyone is invited... Some people I just know better than others and didn't think they would mind me razzing them a little. Bev gets to pick a date and a place and lets do it!
