Traveling with dogs?
Im going up north to snowshoe hunt for a few days and am wondering how you guys house dogs for extended away from home hunting. Im thinking about making a couple 2' x 2' dog houses with 10' tie outs. Any ideas?

I am lucky to have a trailer, we use chain gangs and straw for tieing them out and bed them in the trailer and truck boxes. After running a few hare they they don't need much..

Re: Traveling with dogs?
we use the dog trailers. mine has runs on it so the dogs have plenty of room and my box will hold 8-10 beagles easily.
Re: Traveling with dogs?
Gang chain in nice weather before/after running and dog box at night.
Dog box in winter/bad weather.
Pretty much run long hours on Snowshoe trips, so all they are doing is sleeping in the box until the next morning anyways.
I will walk them a bit in the morning to water them and to empty out.
I will say though, dog trailers are the way to go if you can afford one.

Your boxes will probably work. Use lots of straw. We have even covered the boxes with snow if the temps are really cold. Keep them out of the wind.
