I'm a fan of linebreeding I.F.C. Maravic's Blue Ninja and thus am interested in Keuka.Am well aware of his trial record which is impressive.Am more interested in his traits/style and what folks are seeing in his pups ie foot, nose, voice, hunt, check work, etc.on both hare and cottontail.
I know that no hound walks on water and not looking for anybody to bash.Just looking for honest appraisals of the hound's work.
Thanks for any info.

I owned a female pup off Keuka for a short time. She started easily at about 4 months old on cottontail, I never ran her on hare. She had exceptional hunt jumping more than her share of rabbits in a 3-6 dog pack. She was fast, what I would call 8-9 out of 10. She would over run but knew where the check was, snapped back to it quickly and worked it close. She had a fast chop bark but was a little tight with it. I can't comment on her nose because I owned her in the spring - fall and sold her before the conditions were tough. She was built nice and though I haven't seen her since, I suspect that she would be over 15" tall. The reason I sold her was that my runs were more steady without her.
Rex Depew was good to deal with. We spoke on the phone several times while I had her as he was interested in her developement also.
Im not trying to talk Keuka up or down. Just giving my honest evaluation of the pup that I had.

Ive gone to many field trials over the past year and as i have only placed a few times, I only have young dogs. I go to see whats up and coming and who is producing. My personal opinion of the 2 out of Keuka that were at the trials were nothing special, good rabbit dogs, good brains, decent foot, but nothing flashy. I had a chance to see Keuka run himself and he always put on a show...I just dont see the producing power. Dont mean to offend anyone just my personal opinion
