4 Yotes Helping Rabbit Population

Finally some good conditions... Saturday we started in a section away from our home grounds but one we run in quite a bit. We had one blow the section and we went after him and another blew out of that section where we can't go. Picked the dogs up at the road crossing. Looked at the Garmin and Booty was still running another yote in the other side of the section. Got some dogs back into her and Jason killed him. We then moved to our section where we got on a nasty female. Round and round she went. I think we had 20 some shots at her a few hits but she didn't slow down. After about a 10 mile chase in the section the dogs caught her and bayed her up in an open field. I walked in and shot her in the head with the pistol as the dogs were getting chewed up pretty good. Nothing serious but most of them came out bloody.
On Sunday we ran another section and got a yote up right away. As we were putting the dogs on the yote Ryan said it blew the south road which is quite a ways away. Dan and I thought can't be the same one so we dropped the dogs on the line. Sure enough it was a different and Booty, Flurry and Mollie circled it for an hour or so before Dan ended his life. Nice 40lb Male. We then dropped on the one that blew the section. Round and round they went on that one as well. Dan ended up getting some buck shot in him and I walked my son into the bay up and let him finish it off with the .22. He did awesome job was pretty excited.
Ryan's plott Mollie put on around 30 miles this weeekend and went from puppy to hound right before our eyes. Any good hound you have you always remember that day where the light switch totally switched and for Mollie that was this weekend. We killed two Sunday without our top hound ever seeing the ground. Exciting to see the young and upcomers turning it on.
