When I am out running and someone stranger stops buy and ask if i doing any good I always low ball it. When they ask what there out of I just say some local dogs even though I know their registry and then the big question ,are they any count ? Usally I say they will run a rabbit/deer or whatever else they smell.The reason I do that is I don't trust people not to steal my dogs and I think if they was to see my vehicle again they would think twice about dumping in with my trash hounds.Does anybody else do this or do you always tell the truth.

I will not run with no one that just dumps in on me. I do not tell them about my dogs or the spot I'm running
just kinda blow them off when they start asking. We only have to worry about this situation if were on public
ground which is not often. We once caught a guy trying to call our dogs to him while they was running and
I yelled to my brother Hoss to cut him off at the road and he did. I got up to them and I asked him why was
he calling for them and he said he thought they was hurt ( yeah right). He was a thief looking to steal our dogs.
Needless to say he was not treated to kindly and bet he remembers us if he tries that lie again on someone
else.

I've had dogs stolen before after running on state property, but that doesn't stop me from talking with guys who may stop by the area I'm running. I've personally have stopped and walked up to guys running to see how their doing and how the runnings been for them this season. Not alot of guys run rabbit dogs near me and the tracts of state land we can run are small so your gonna bump into guys sooner or later. Majority of guys that have walked up on me or I've walked up on have been really good guys, but the occasional asshole will show up every now and then. Just dropping dogs on someone running is wrong in my eyes, but I see nothing wrong with stopping and bullshitting with another person who shares the same interest as me.
