Cedar bedding allergies?
Has anybody had their dogs scratching from being on cedar?
Re: Cedar bedding allergies?
heard of it but have not seen it, i also only keep my hounds on ceder for 6 to 7 months. Is it clean and dry bedding?
You could try a lil cooking oil in the dogs food for a while to see if its just dry skin, maybe a tablespoon per dog per day.

I've put cedar chips in my dog houses over 40 years. Only thing it has done that I can see is give my dogs flea relief and make them smell good.

I have used Cedar chips for years but this year I did have a young female react to them. Lost hair and developed a couple small sores. Took them out....did nothing else and she got better really quick. I'll keep her in straw for now...

I use cedar shavings and have zero problems. I switch to straw in november til warm again. I transport em in the backseat of my buick in dog crates. I sure miss the smell of cedar right about now..lol they smell much better in the summer and have not had flea issues since i started using cedar.

Yes, that's the only reason I make the switch during the cold months.
