Just got back from vet...

Well most of you were right... Its his ecollar wearing on his leg... Now what should I do??? I mean if i move it to the one side, it could slide right back over and mess with it again... What would yall do? Vet cleared him to run again if I tape his leg up good

He hasnt ran any off game but sure would hate to regret the day he did.. I have a 5 year old that the other day we was all over deer and never ran any but i gaurentee he will always wear a collar... When we load up all dogs has collars on

Ya, there is little chance the sport dog system would hurt his legs. Plus it has plenty of power and range.

What makes me so angry about this is that I run the DC-40 collars on my male and literally the day you posted your story I was out playin with the dogs and the one who has the garmin has a HUGE knot on his leg from the GPS.

I am ordering the collar that fits dc-40 and garmin on one collar. that should do it.

I have got three dogs that wear their legs out on either the shocker or dc-40 tried putting them both on same collar, behind their regular collar, closer to the head, turned to the side, tight, loose fit, doesn't matter the only way to get around it is not put on a collar, The size of the dog doesn't matter it depends if they are a long stride head down type dog or a heads up dog that strides different, found a dog which neck is shorter have more trouble.
I have had younger pups do it then when they fill out and chest broadens a little the problem goes away
I have never tried a sport dog don't know if that makes a difference or not. I run a collar on them and if they are young and just put them up every couple days till I am sure they are broke then I don't run a collar anymore, I have put duct tape on back of collar to pad collar and it seemed to help just put a rap of elect. tape on first so you can peel duct tape off when you need to charge them.

You can use the origanal SD collar and punch a couple holes in it for the dc40, thats what i did anyways.

The Sport Dog collar is smaller and fits to the dog better, the shape of the shocker is almost a half moon. If you put the open side of the half-moon up toward the chin it gets the unit that much further away from the dogs legs. But I live up north in hare habitat and we don’t see many real small dogs so I don’t know how it would work for 13” and down. One thing that may work is putting it all on one collar and setting the collar up so the shocker is under the chin and the tracker is around the side or on the back of the neck, the shocker probes should help keep the collar aligned. Once you accomplish this the antenna will point the wrong direction so you would have to order the extended range ones and get it to point up.

i dont run garmin on mine... wish I did and I will in the future but Im just using the TT... You think I would be better putting the collar towards his chin or his chest?

Freeholler40 i dont think the TT collar is small enough compaired to the SD, the new sd is desinged with a "half moon" desinge rather the big ole block tt and the old sd use. I would go up tight to the chin With the TT.

The sd's are quite a bit smaller than the TT's and that may help. If in the mean time you still want to run I would say just wrap the leg or both legs to keep it from happening.
