A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
rackhntr - thanks. there is a real mixed bag on the blood. shooter/striker/gator/zipper/code blue. majority is based on my music dog (greenbay dickey doo x shooters page 1) and a cross (dirt road zipper x riley's daisy mae) the very last clip has my music dog in the lead with peanut/molly/hank following behind. these 3 are all out of music from 2 different crosses. glad ya liked the clip.
Nice video. You guys have some nice hounds.
It's been fun watching Hank develop.
How did you mount the video camera to the gun?
What kind of camera is it and does shock from the gun affect the camera?
thanks pete. i enjoy watchin your clips as well. lookin forward to go chase a few indiana cottontail in a week or so.
underdog - thanks for the good words. chad's hank dog is as nice as i have ever seen and really coming on strong. some times we forget that he isn't a year old yet.
my camera is a sony handicam dcr-sx63 (i have 3) and it is a pretty decent camera. if i get a chance i will make a little clip cause a few guys have asked the same questions. but for now, the bracket is 2 L shaped pcs. of metal (from off a garage door) that are bolted together to form a c shape. i mounted it to the forearm of a 410 single shot with a longer bolt to form a c above the barrel. put a little rubber between everything and mount the camera on top and your good to go. a 20 gauge was too much and would shut the screen from the recoil. but we put it on the 410 with 2 1/2" shells and it works like a champ. didn't affect the camera for me but i knew i was taken a chance. hope that made sense and helped - marty
These clips are so much better with sound. Finally got sound on this old computer an boy is it great!
Marty, I'm a big fan of your movies, you and Chad make a great team... ... look forward to your clip on what camera and how you set it up to make these films, they're the next best thing to being there...
thanks guys. we sure have a pile of fun running the beagles and making some videos. it will be neat to watch some of these clip down the road when i can't get out of my rockin chair. we all know that a great hunting partner and a great dog are really hard to come by. i came up with the hunting partner but i'm still workin on the dog end of it lol. here is kind of a corny clip that i havn't posted on here, but it might be worth watchin.
