The Best Christmas Gift EVER!!!!!
Hello,
this is Missi, the hat lady, and most of you I am sure know the story about Cydnee and her health issues. We have had a very long road with her lack of eating and her feeding tube. The doctors have never been able to tell us exactly why she does not eat, just that a very high percentage of "heart babies" have feeding issues. And that one day it will just "click" and they will begin eating. We never understood how that would happen.....however just before Christmas, she was at her Grummy's house and asked for speghetti. Her Grummy fixed it and she ate two bowls full. They filmed it because they just could not believe how much she was eating. And they knew I had to see it. She has continued to eat well over the last month. She has discovered many new things that she likes, such as pepparoni, meat balls, and speghetti. The best thing is that she is asking for food. She has never done that before. It has always been a struggle to get her to even take a bite, now she does not go very long before she is asking for more food. It seems like a miracle! We still have a long way to go. We have gone about a month without having to feed her during the day thru her backpack (feeding tube) but she still has to have it at night. She is 5 1/2 years old and weighs 27 pounds so we still have to get some meat on those little bones before we can discontinue her night time feedings but she has made such tremendous progress.
I just wanted to share this with all of you because so many of you have met her and ask about her.
