I just listed a few dogs for sale and the first 2 callers wanted to wire me the money through WalMart. Does anyone know of anyone using this for a scam ? Thanks, Danny

Alot of people use Wal Mart to wire money. Just dont let the dog go until you receive the cash. They will give you a # to present to Wal Mart and they will check your ID and pay you.

This is very common and a good method, especially to secure a dog while buying long distance.

Coming from the law enforcement side i just want to give you ALL the facts. wire scams are very common so don't let anyone tell you they are not ESPECIALLY if they are trying to send you more money than your asking and wanting you to send some back.

I have heard this same thing. I sold a female a little over a year ago to a guy that wanted to wire some money and send a service to pick up the hound.........I have to admit I was a little skeptical. In my case it all worked out ok although I did check the person out as best I could before the deal happened. And I made sure that I had the money in hand before I handed over the hound. And I was not responsible for handing any money to the transport person. And the guy buying the dog did not ask me to send any money back to him either. This last part is where I have heard of the most scams coming from. The only advice I can give is be careful. It is a shame that you have to be leery of these things.

I thought the same thing.A guy wanted to get info on my local post office and send a money order thru them.I tried to figure out the angle if it was a scam. They called me a little while later and told me it was there waiting on me.Good way to do buisness over a long distance or several states away.

I sold 3 pups with guys wiring me money through walmart. Walmart is everywhere and as long as
both of you give walmart all of the correct information there won't be a problem. I live in MO
and sold 2 pups to a gentleman in SC. He wired me the money through walmart. I picked it up that
same day and he sent a hauler to my house to pick up his pups and deliver them to him. Everything
went great for me, but you can NEVER be to careful. It sucks that some people are only out to take advantage
of others.

We always use wal mart to wire money for dogs..I think were scams come in is when they send a money order for more than purchase price n have you send extra back to them..wal mart is very careful asking for id and conformation number..They have cameras in store, be very easy to identify a person scamming..u
We have used dog haulers alot as well, does not mean your being cheated..

Thanks for the replies, I figured that if there was a scam someone on here had probably seen or heard of it.

I have purchased several dogs using Walmart moneygram. If you do not release the dog until you have the cash in hand, I fail to see how you could be scammed. The person sending the money is the one taking the chance. I purchased a dog one time and had difficulty getting the dog or equal value. It is a shame that we have come to the place that we can't trust people.
