I have a 9 week old pup that I cant seem to get straight. She has a runny stool and has some blood in her stool. I have treated for worms and coccidiosis. I carried a stool sample to the vet and he could not find any worms or coccidia in his testing of it. She just looks bad and I take pride raising pups. What could it be? Any suggestions are welcome. Just dont like to see a pup feel or look bad.

fecal tests are very inaccurate. I wouldnt go by that. How long has the pup been sick. New Parvo going around. My client just lost 2 litters of pups because of it. Bloody stool is a symptom. Dont mean to scare you, just something to check on. Vets sometimes misdiagnose. Hope it isnt that.

Sounds like its had a bowl of milk?
Pups can't digest cow's milk.

Hope your pup is feeling better. If not, is there any vomiting going on? When you pinch the skin up does it snap back or stay pinched up. If it stays pinched up, dehydration is a serious problem in a pup. Force feed baby food and pedialyte.

Get a small jar of chicken baby food and a bottle of pedialyte from your grocery store's baby section. Get a 3cc syringe without the needle. Mix some chicken with the pedialyte, suck it up into the syringe and feed the pup. Do not tip the head back as that will open the airways and the food will aspirate into the lungs. Follow the food with pedialyte. The pup must eat and drink to survive.

Surprised the vet didn't give you some Albon to give the pup anyway. :???:
I usually can straighten pups up with Valbazen given for a couple weeks.
Has the pup gotten any better?

Pup looks better and acts better, but stool looks worse. More blood now than ever. Her eyes were watery yesterday but are not today. She is at the vet now. I have 3 pups her age and 4 older pups. I cant take any chances, I have a good vet so maybe we can figure this thing out. This pup is breed nice and I hate to see a sick pup. I will let everyone know what i find out.
