could some one explain a "cold" nose and a "hot" nose?

simple. if you touch your dogs nose and its cold you have a cold nose dog. if its hot, a hot nose dog. simple. ha.

you got to be kidding me. seriously i hear it all the time. does cold nose mean they can track in cold weather, take a cold track and catch up with it or has to have a hot track or what??

a cold nosed hound is a hound that barks on a old track, and a hot nosed hound is a hound that opens on a hot track. the track will be fresh as a new cut daisy lol.

ok. sorry. here goes. i run two. one very cold nose 6 year old female and one very hot nose male. the female will take a track even on icy crust thats HOURS old and pick at it till she jumps in or gets to a hole. my male will be there and not open till its jumped. when he opens, i KNOW its a hot track. a cold nose dog can be kind of a pain sometimes, but we don't have many rabbits here so it works out ok. thats what i think it means. anyone else?
