I just bought a new garmin Alpha

please keep us posted. thinking of upgrading soon

i got 1.74 miles with it last night. is this good?

I get 1.50 on my astro 220 but will lose it on occasion after 1 mile

A lot is dependent on cover where you're at...if you're in the mountains it's very good....if you're right in the city with a lot of buildings it's good. If you're in rural Maine and it's not mountainous I'd expect a bit more but realistically I don't think more is needed for hunting with beagles. Enjoy your Alpha, it's an awesome tracking system.

It was heavily wooded and think I could have done better I absolutely love the touch screen
