Deep snow fun!

Post by beaglerof4 »

Had a great day today! My cousin went rabbit hunting for the first time and went 3 for 3 :D . We ended up getting 8 total, and could not ask for more from our little 13" hounds. They worked there tails off today and had to dig them out from under over a foot of snow. Even after 4hrs of hunting and swimming in the snow, they were determined to keep going :D , but we said it was time to quit. Figured I would share since I have not posted anything in a while. Thanks for looking.

Lack of holes. They were running a little and then burying themselfs under the snow and briars, so the dogs had to dig them out to get them running again. I have a pretty good idea where a lot of the main holes are on the property, so we could get the mcut off before they got there.

We got 2 Saterday, rabbits did the same thing, dug down in the briers and snow, the dogs dug right in after them and dug them out! We didn't even shoot. Good job guys, thanks for sharing pics.
Thanks,

Great pics, our rabbits from today come from under the briars that where down cause of the snow. Them dogs got under that stuff hunting, sometimes couldnt even tell where they where at till they opened up. It was fun thats for sure :)

Has anyone been keeping track of the number of buck/doe rabbits they're killing this year?... recently from under the snow?

Nope I have never worried about if its a doe or buck rabbit. I do try to make sure that the rabbits are big before I shoot though.
