I lost a dog a while back. I found him dead with his bell still on his collar. Dont know for sure a coyote done it but where he was running is covered up with them.

I wouldn't run dogs without bells, for several reasons. But it is a personal thing, some guys hate to hear them. But they have that right, I suppose.

I run with bells . I started using them for location and coyote deterrent. Ive heard it doesnt keep coyotes away but i feel more comfortable with them. I use a garmin too, but if Im only running a couple of dogs and i hear 2 bells near me I dont need to keep pulling the handheld out of my pocket to see where they are.

X2..I HATE when i forget to put them on and cut them loose. It don't take long before i realize there is "something wrong" when i do'nt hear anything.
