I have a Garmin 220 with three collars 2 dc40's and a dc30.When i first purchased them i had excellent performance from the dc30 collar but would lose contact at times with the dc40's.I have the long range antenna and simply held antenna up and regain contact with dc40 collar.Since then I purchased after market tuff skin antennas and after market flex antenna for the 220.Results were excelent for the first 2 to 3 hours then I would lose contact with them ,gps contact and the only way to regain contact is to catch the dogs and let the collars reunite with 220.Any suggestions what might be the problem? It"s not a battery problem since I tried replacing batteries after 2 hours and still have the problem.

Sounds to me like you need to clear track log and trip computer. Go to main menu enter advanced and then GPS applications. Go to tracks. It probably says 99%. Go back to list and enter trip computer. Hit the menu button and select reset. It will alow you to reset everything and save marked locations. Clear it and then see how it works

I bought the 220 wih DC40 collars at the same one as a friend of mine. The night I received them I updated all of the software on both the 220 and the collars. My buddy did not, and still hasn't. I never lose communication with my hounds and he loses comm. a lot! If you haven't updated both the 220 unit and the collars I would do that! Good luck!

I have the 320 but I did try the tuff skin antennas...those things made my DC40's complete junk. After putting it on one of my collars I would lose signal at 70, 80, 90 yards, etc. It also used the collar battery twice as fast as the stock antenna.
I doubt he will see this but I am blaming it on madcatter...As soon as he touched that collar, it went completely haywire!
