I just purchased the birdseye view and it will not let me download but a small area. Do I have to get a memory card or something to download maybe 2 or 3 states? All I was able to get downloaded was just a few counties.

There is a slot for a microSD card; I got a 32 gb after filling up a 4 gb.

Would a large area like the whole state of Maine fit on a 32gb card?

WHICH IS ABSOLUTE HORSE SH**. It makes me so mad.. There is no way they have the customer base to bog down their servers at more/faster download speeds.. If it is, then their system is from the 90's..
Its embarrasing and sham... You pay for a yearly service and you can hardly use it. If I pay 700.00 for a system and then pay a yearly subscription then I should be able to download what I want at normal speeds..
Then when you call Garmin to tell them their speeds are slower than dial-up their excuse is "don't blame us, its a third party" WELL GET A BETTER THIRD FRIGGIN PARTY!!!

This is good info to be passing on fellas. It will definately make me stop and think before investing in the birdseye view when I finally get my Garmin.
Thanks.

Buck-- birds eye is pretty nice to have and I think its worth the 30 but the way they manage it is so pathetic. They limit download speeds on purpose so that way you cant get a huge card and download say a whole state at once...
You get about a 25mile square per download that takes about 30 minutes to download on high quality give or take a bit.... Once enough people call them to complain they will change it... Right now the vocal majority hasn't complained enough although there is TONS of reviews online slamming the practice of limiting download size/speed...
THe hard part is when you go to a trial and need a new area you haven't been too.
