I got a few beagling friends and yes they are friends because they are always there for me and I for them but they are always telling me what im doing wrong!!! They never say anything im doing right but friendship is more important than any dog to me... I just wish they would let me handle my dogs and they hunt theres and enjoy running together because im tired of hearing what i do wrong.. I know I am not an expert I dont own any world champions but niether do they but this aint my first rodeo!!! I been doing ths for 24 yrs and ive had good dogs and bad and wasted money on many scrubs just as im sure 99% of you have but ya live and learn.. The dogs i got im sure arent the best around but they suit me and Im happy with them. I have learned alot in 24 yrs but ill be the first to say i dont know it all and am always learning new things daily but i am not a complete idiot on hounds niether!! I just wanna say when you think you know everything there is to know about beagling then youve just took the funny outta running hounds.Beagling is a hobby for me and not a career so I just wanna enjoy it and have a good time without being trash talked all the time. If you know as much as these guys do you need to start selling lessons because Im sure there are alot like me. lets just enjoy running and make frienships that last a lifetime cause dogs come and go but a good friend is forever!!!!

Very well said. If your happy with what your doing and your dogs and your not asking for help then they need to just clam up and enjoy the running.

JMO i dont know if i could call people like that friends.There is a dirffernt between someone telling me what my doga are doing wronge all the time or just busting your b-lls as friends do.I would not run my dogs with people like that.Like me and my buddy run dogs but we work as a team we try to get dogs to complet each other dogs and breed the to get what we like.But at hunting time it is a b-ll busting.I know at the end of the day its all for fun and back to work on making the best dogs we can make.

You are a more patient person than I am. I like most dogs that I have known better than most people that I have known.Dogs have taught me way more .

DO LIKE ME HUNT BY YOURSELF ITS NOT FUN BUT U DON'T HAVE TO RUN WITH MOUTHY DOGS OR LISTEN TO ANY MESS THAT MOST DONT KNOW WHAT THEYER TALKING ABOUT ANYWAY. AND U CAN TELL ABOUT YOUR RACES EXACTLY LIKE U WANT TOO LOL.

Amen , if i dont ask for an opinion its because i dont want to hear one ! went golfing with a guy one time , every time i walked up to my ball he was asking what club i was going to use and telling me how to stand , after the first nine we tallied our scores and i was beating him by 7 strokes , now i have to tell you i suck at golf and im not very good , but he was 7 strokes worse then me , he never said a word on the back nine !

I hunt alone mostly my kennel partner runs with me some that way theres no b.s.

Not trying to start anything but why is everybody so sensitive about every thing. Can't say anything about anybodys dog, no picking, can't throw your hat. A man told me once that if he has to like my dogs in order for me to like him we may have some issues. Do you guys argue about Nascar or your favorite sport team or is that off limits too. Nothing makes me sicker than hunting with a bunch of men afriad to speak, every body grinning saying thats a pretty nice dog, oh thanks I like yours too. Its just a DOG not our children why be so offended. I was hunting one time in Kentucky with a bunch of experienced beaglers, friends and family of mine.We turn loose on a rabbit, with some real dogs, they looked like pure poop, each other, ran where ther was no rabbit it was terrible. Those grown men stood there grinning afraid to speak, didn't want to offend each other. They were so sensitive that no one did anything, finally I could not take it, broke up the race got my cull and stared her the other way. The issue her was not the dogs it was the men, they all knew what was going on but rather ignore it than saying anything, afraid someone would be offended. Speak up say what you think, if a man gives his opinion to me on my dog it does not offend me at all. I may not agree or I may not want to agree but its not going to make me mad at him. to me competition, debating, arguing its all part of the fun! Dogs don't compare to my friends, they can hate my dogs but that won't have any bearing on or friendship. Lighten up people its all in fun!

Amen augerhead , the group I run with will let you know real quick when a dog is screwing up. I would expect No less. It has drove us to have better dogs because of it.

Could you imagine a dog screwing up in front of Mike Crabtree?? He won't be holding back. I would ride him like a rented mule if his dog screwed up in front of us. I don' t think our guys would have it any other way. It's all in fun. Enjoy it guys ....a little compitition makes you strive for a better game.

augerhead There is a dirffernts in hearing a bunch of BS when you run your dogs.I do it for fun and get away from all the BS that life throws your way,but if that is all you can do is put my dogs down or tell me what iam doing worng do not need people like that around me. There is a dirffernts in some friendly advice love to hear that,but not going to take a bunch of smart ass comments.If my dog is doing wrong i will be the frist to say something for sure,iam the hardest judge on them,but let me make my own comments.The guy said he has been doing this for 24 year,i would hope he knows what he is looking at by now.Do not get me wrong i love compitition when it comes to dogs i would run my dogs with any dogs out there win or loose.That is what makes you work harder on your dogs.

Seems to be alot of thin skin now days. I never got to run with the Late Great Kent Shirley but spent many an hour talking dogs with him. He had me ready to put mine down and he could do this sitting on the couch..lol.. and it would have been twice as bad if we woulda made it to the field. Gotta have thick skin with the company I keep!!!...if you know his smarta$$ grandson you know what I am dealing with...lol

if i want competition i'll trial , i dont because i dont want any part of it , i hunt my dogs and pleasure run , yes i said pleasure run , if someone is constantly putting me or my dogs down that is not pleasurable to me , ive been doing this stuff way too long to have to have the best and make everything a competition , its time to just kick back and enjoy it , if that is by myself that is fine by me . i find that the ones that like to dish it out are the ones that cant take it , i would turn the tables on them and see how that goes and if they cant take it , move on without them

I don't think the first poster said anything about people teasing with him or going on with him in fun.He is talking about someone constantly criticizing his dogs.I run my dogs to enjoy myself not to listen to an asshole.If I want to do that I can talk to myself.dog I agree with your post 100 percent.
