Which tracking system are you useing and what do you like about it. Going to have to sell another gun wanta tracking system.

I have had a tracker for almost a year and have never had to use it. Today was the first day i needed it. I had some young dogs in a huge corn field and they got way away from us. I drove down the road to the other side of the corn field and that is where I found them. That Tracker took me right to the dogs. It saved alot of walking and time.

If you want something that you can carry with you that is small then I recommend TRACKER. IF your not worried about carring it with you all the time then I would recommend a WILDLIFE MATERIALS,INC.. They make different models depending on how many dogs you would need to track at one time. I own the TRX-3S model which can track 3 collars at one time. As far as collars go, no matter what brand of tracking system you buy I would recommend the Willdlife Materials Inc. collars. Model #HLPM-3850 MAGNUM. BEST COLLAR ON THE MARKET BAR NONE! Just make sure you match the fequency of the collars you buy to whatever frequency your reciever is.

I own and love my wildlife trx-48s tracking system with a mini antenna the whole unit is easily carried / no bigger than a haldheld police radio / I have the 3850 collars and like them the best although the tracker brand supralite collars are smaller more compact and have more range, but the wildlife 3850 has a beter and more even tempo or ping to thier collars. I have found my unit to be much more accurate and I can tell distance of the dogs from 50 yards out to miles / the tracker brand units are not as accurate.

I use the marshall telemetry 10 dog unit it carries very easily its easy to use and pinpoint accurate I also use their collars and would be surprised if they would be out distanced Dave

I think u need a tracking collar on pups because some time they will get some were they can not get there self out of but my dogs they all ways made sure mine was ok but what gun u got for sale.

I use wildlife materials, small, light, and easy to carry. Have the small antenna and always come home with my dogs, but it requires some footwork from time to time if you are in moutainous areas. They are worth every penny you invest in them, because you always are able to locate your dogs.

Buy the Icom-r10 scanner. You will be able to track any of the collars made and all frequencies. I have one and it works great, and another nice thing is that you can fine tune each collar to really find the tone you prefer. It will work with all collars sold, and I believe is about 250.00. Look for Grove Communications on the web. Hope this helps.

How do you use for direction of dog and such......care to share some more info? I read where it said people use for locating animals but I just dont understand how you use it, with no antenna to aim and such.

Thats it Randy, you take off the rubber antenna and replace it with a Yagi style, I use a 3 prong one. The best thing is it will track all channels, and some say that the antenna has to be set to a frequency, however I use my to track 217, 219, and 220 with excellent results. This is a plus when you find someone with used collars that you can buy without worrying if they fit into a certain range, i.e 217.000 thru 217.500 etc. My friend hunts with the wildlife box, and I will admit that it gets a better signal at times, but if you buy the in line amp, like I did (69.00) the R10 works just as good. I have friends who have sold their other boxes to buy an R10. Another thing if you buy one throw the rechargable batteries away as they wont last anytime, I replaced mine at the beginning of hunting season with Coppertops, it takes 4 AA, and carry an extra set in the truck, as it has a low battery warning system.
