cooling tips

Post by mainstreet »

With summer coming on, looking for some advice on keeping dogs cool. I moved kennel up under deck for all day shade practically. Give them fresh water every morning and evening. Anything else to help them out?

you covered the 2 most important things, at most co-op's and feed stores they have horse fans to keep the bugs off them, if you keep all the dogs in a row one fan blowing through every kennel would be a big help with heat and bigs

There's a million "extras" you can do like the fan or ice in the water buckets or even misters to go the extra mile. Sounds like you've already got the 2 biggest covered. Plenty of shade & fresh water. As long as you give em those they'll be ok.

I am in the process of redoing my kennels. Going to put up shade cloth with misters to keep the dogs cool. On real hot days I'll drag my fan out there.
