Wayne was one of the biggest hearted men I have ever known. He lived to gun hunt and run the dogs and when the sun went down he would party with the best of them. Wayne probably had as good a eye for talent in a hound as anybody I have ever seen. He always had a way of finding the best in people no matter what anyone else thought or said about them. I loved him like a brother and I will surely miss him.

Wayne was like my Father and also my best friend when friends were few and between. We traveled thousands of miles together and drink alot of beers in our day, He never failed to come up with a hound that could win in any Little Pack hunt whether it be a big 5 or a local hunt. I remember he would give me tips on life and hounds as well. He was a Great Man Start to Finish, Today my life has changed forever. Wayne Waits I love you With all my heart Rip.

wayne was true friend to me since the first day that we meet each other . we travled the miles together wayne won alot of state and big 5 hunts in arha and to me was the best houndsman out there when things were tough when you needed help he was always there he never said no and wayne said alot of things to me to make me think about my life and the direction it was going as i made several mistakes in my life he was there to help me along the way he never got on me just made comments to make me think about things. I always thought wayne should have been in arha hall fame he may be i dont follow arha much anymore if more people were as giving of there time exsperince and money as wayne was this world would be a better place.

Wayne won the ARHA World hunt twice, about every state hunt around and I think he won 3 maybe 4 or maybe all of the big 5 hunts. The last big hunt I got to go to with Wayne I believe was the Virginia State 3 years ago. Four of us loaded the dogs and took off and I had one of the best times I have ever had.

We have lost a true legend in little pack and a great man for whom all that were blessed to know him. I always enjoyed talkin to Wayne and listening to his stories from years ago, and all the advice he gave me. I am glad to know I could call him a friend. RIP Wayne you will be greatly missed.

Ron you are correct Wayne was always there he never seemed to care what others thought. If he liked ya he was truly a friend and mentor , I never seen fear or confusion in his eyes he always had the answer wheter i liked it or not. Ya know most on here have only met me thru this board but as a young man i was hell on wheels, out of control in and out of jail and just generally didnt give a f---. Wayne helped me thru some really rough times in life. He gave me exactly what i needed tough love. He give me a place to sleep and food to eat and several Years of good advice and companion ship. We ran dogs everyday for years, he would always make a comment and looking back now it was advice sound advice.
I have never really imagined life without him , he has always been a phone call or a visit home away, seldom did i make a trip to shelbyville without checking on wayne and mary jo. I seen Wayne cry one time in all the years we were together it was when Jay Painter passed we all cried together. I guess Ol Jay and Wayne are together again , i know i will get too see them again soon. Its impossible too put a life time of friendship and love in a few lines but at this time thats all i can do , so many close friends have called and i am sorry but all i can do is cry right now as my heart is broken, let us please keep Mary Jo in our prayers.
Wayne you are and always have been the Godfather of the Beagling World too me.
