watch ya dog with the purple tags for a few days if they begin to wobble or look frail take the tags off and leave out in the open for about five days then put the tag back on as they are too strong for that individual doggie .... works great

I use the whole tag and have been for 3 years with no problem and they work great. If a bitch has pups on her I will take the tag off though because they may be too strong around the pups even though they are not on the pups and pups like to chew on things. I have had them chew on their mother's collar before so I don't won't them chewing on the tags full of pesticide, just a thought that may save the pups. This topic has been bought up on here several times and in one of the previous threads there is a picture of the way I fold mine over and clip them together as well as several others.

i also heard it is a good idea to leave the dog collar alittle loose so the tag travels around the neck of the bdog and does not stay in the same place on the neck...also may be a good idea to rotate collar if on your own around dogs neck to make sure it is being moved around.

That's why I elected to no longer use the tags . If I did use them my daughter would no longer be allowed to interact with my hounds whatsoever .

They are not harmful to people or children. I have two beagles and a house dog in the house all of them with the tags on them and there has never been an issue and they are around us all the time. I have read on several other posts the same thing.

First I want to Thank everyone for the information on these and it helped alot. Second they are very harmfull to children  . The thing about Insecticide is it doesn't always have immediate effects on people, for example look at smoking cigg's and the effects they have later on in life. I am using them because my children usually never touch my hounds, they only feed them once in a while. Not trying to start a argument I just don't want anyone to get hurt especially children.

That is what i was thanking to but never new the truth about it.Not here to start a argument either just trying to find a way to save a few dollars. But my kids health is the most improtant to me.Just though i would put that question out there, the guys on here that have been doing this alot longer then i have.
